The Penny Parks School of Dancing provides tuition for children from age 2.5 to 18 and Adult Classes.
We believe that Dance and Performing Arts should be fun, helping children to gain confidence and make new friends and available examinations are a great addition to a students personal profile, particularly for university. Many pupils at our school have made lifelong friends at classes. All children should have the chance to dance, and of course dance develops healthy bodies including a strong core, strong legs and feet and good posture. It also helps develop the mind as pupils need good recall and spatial awareness.
We enter pupils in examinations for Ballet with the Royal Academy of Dance twice a year and for Tap, Jazz and Musical Theatre examinations once a year with the IDTA. We also have Singing Exams with London College of Music annualy.
We organise trips to the ballet and theatre and arrange lots of other dance activities through the year including two workshops which help our charity.
We believe in helping others and we run a charity for children called the Penny Parks Charitable Trust.
The School was started by Penny Parks, the Principal, in 1977.
